Hatreon Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 19, 2017
Do not create false pages or collect money for false projects. Hatreon can only be used to fund real, creative activity.
Hate speech is protected speech. Hatreon exists in reaction to politically motivated no-platforming at sites like Patreon. Always consider your local, state, and national laws, but the site stands for free speech absolutism and will protect creators’ interests against sovereign and corporate threats. Do not abuse this protection.
Hatreon reserves the right to review and remove accounts that directly or primarily promote illegal activity. We side with the interests of speakers, but as an organization or individual be careful about your representations. For example, we believe it is protected speech and in the public interest to learn about drug or explosives sales and manufacturing. But a page merely funding the sale or manufacture of illegal drugs or explosives will likely not be funded.
Who Can’t Use Hatreon
After creating a Hatreon page, any creator caught or convicted of making credible violent threats, committing violent crimes or fraud, or performing illegal activities like those aforementioned will be banned from the site.
Members of organized crime, known terrorist organizations, OFAC debarred parties or similarly sanctioned US persons and foreign nationals may not collect funds through Hatreon. If you have been convicted of sex crimes, fraud or money laundering you are also unable to use our service.
Creators who violate these community guidelines may be banned from using Hatreon. If you see a page on the site that you feel violates these guidelines, please send us an email. Please also realize that Hatreon is an advanced community, and while you may not agree with someone’s activity, it may not be a violation of these guidelines.
